Zundapp Combinette

Christmas has been and gone, now I can get on with the job at hand.

The frame was pretty grubby.

The alloy section had some surface corrosion showing and the steel bits were rusty. A wire wheel and

some wire wool were used and the stand then frame given a coat of primer.

Things look better when they're clean. There are one or two spots that will need a bit of filling

but all in all a coat of paint isn't to far away for the frame.

As the last few days have passed I've been cleaning and priming various other bits.

The first object started out as a tatty headlamp.

First thing to do was split the lamp ring from the casting,

IMGP1621

that done it was attack time. Wire wheels work well.

IMGP1622

Finally a coat of grey primer to see what needs more prep work.

IMGP1623

Things are looking good. The horn cover went from this

IMGP1625

to this

IMGP1627

and finaly this.

IMGP1628

Other bits changed likewise from this

IMGP1631to this.

Silver paint really works well when bits are beyond polish, shame about the petrol tank

though, but that's another story
